Hearing Aids Selected for You. Verified for Your Ears.
At The Hearing AuD, your fitting starts with your hearing test, your listening challenges, and the conversations that matter most to you. Our locally owned Moon Township practice combines personalized care with measurements that help us fine-tune your hearing aids to your individual needs.
Real-Ear Verification: A Personalized Fit You Can Measure
Every ear is different. Real-ear measurements let us check how your hearing aids deliver sound inside your ear canal, rather than relying only on the manufacturer’s initial settings.
During verification, your provider gently places a thin, flexible microphone tube in your ear canal alongside your hearing aid. You listen to recorded speech while we measure the amplified sound reaching your ear. We compare those measurements with targets based on your hearing loss and adjust your hearing aids to improve access to soft and conversational speech while keeping louder sounds comfortable.
This gives us a measured starting point for your fitting. Your feedback helps us refine it further.
Available Beyond Our Leasing Program
Real-ear verification is included with hearing aids purchased privately through The Hearing AuD and with our hearing-aid leasing program.
For hearing aids obtained through an insurance-sponsored or third-party hearing benefit program, real-ear verification may carry a separate professional fee. We explain what your program includes and any additional costs before providing the service.
If your current hearing aids are falling short, ask about a fitting review and real-ear verification. We can assess whether adjustments may help; device compatibility and service fees apply.
Follow-Up Care That Focuses on Your Everyday Life
Your fitting is the beginning of your care. We schedule an initial follow-up within three weeks to review comfort, sound quality, device use, and the listening situations you want to improve.
We discuss your experience at home, at work, and in background noise, then make adjustments as needed. Speech-in-noise testing is also available to help us understand difficulties that a standard hearing test may not fully explain.
When appropriate, we discuss communication strategies and accessories for situations where hearing aids alone may need additional support.
Local Care. Clear Expectations.
You deserve to understand why a hearing aid is recommended, how it is fitted, and what care is included. Our team explains your options and works with you to build a plan around your hearing needs, lifestyle, and budget.
